Tlaxcala, Pintura de

This is a single leaf of European-type paper with pre-Hispanic style pictorial images of two Nahua noblemen who clearly lived in the Spanish colonial era, judging by their names and titles of nobility. The handwriting appears to be seventeenth-century. This manuscript resides in the Archivo General de la Nación, and it was published as one of the “joyas” (gems). ---------- Ellen Heenan, at the University of Oregon, has processed the digital images of this manuscript using PhotoShop, preparing them for the Filemaker Pro database, where they have been annotated.
