gloss, “CIVDAD. S. GABRIEL De chollolã”

This is a gloss in Spanish identifying the City of San Gabriel, part of Chollolan (Cholula, today). Very few communities had the privilege of calling themselves ciudades (cities). The monastery here was devoted to St. Gabriel.
