"Here is represented how finally the inhabitants of Malacatepec were converted and believed in God." [This is Frederick Starr's English translation of the text found in the corresponding scene in the version he saw in the pueblo in 1898, published in his The Mapa de Cuauhtlantzinco (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1898), p. 13. And Starr's footnote: "The conversion appears to have been fairly vigorous; the natives are shown using clubs." Also p. 13.] Note that a town called Santa María Malacatepec can be found on the other side of Cholula from Cuautlancingo.
