f. 16v., near San Bartolomé

f. 16v., near San Bartolomé

This page (folio 16 verso) represents a place near San Bartolomé. The painting has two bands of a green watercolor wash, both horizontal. The top green band contains four trees, outlined in black. Below the trees is a light brown ground, and below that the other band of green, which has text over it. The paper appears to have a seam running vertically down the middle of the page, and where the text runs over this seam, the ink is darker. The text refers to a plain that has 1,200 cords of land, and it references a boundary of San Bartolomé. The text also mentions a date of “1 Flint,” from the pre-Columbian calendar.
