It was during the reign of this couple that Europeans invaded Mesoamerica. In 1520 a first -still peaceful- expedition was undertaken into the Mixteca by the Italian Gonzalo de Umbria. This is the last couple recorded in the Codex Bodley (p. 20-iii).
