gloss (”La Conçecion”)

This gloss refers to La Concepción, an indigenous community on the east side of Toluca, slightly north of the road to Mexico City. This may refers to Santa María Totoltepec today. The missing “p” in the spelling of the name here may be owing to the writer possibly being indigenous. In our other map from Toluca that stretches to the wall and dates from about the same time period, the mapmaker gives Santa María Concepción for the name of this community (including the “p” in Concepción).
