This is the number eight(?), written in red (ink? pencil?), appearing in Book V, folio 4 verso. It is apparently a page number, but not in the colonial system of folio pagination. Because the principal text of this page is not in red, one may presume this number was added later.
We may also be seeing the number twelve in blue ink or gray pencil—? And there is a little “x,” possibly, just below that number--? There may also be a small “t” or “x” just above the tree farther to the right--? [SW]

Este es el número ocho (?), escrito en rojo (¿tinta?¿lápiz?). Aparentemente es un número de página, pero no en el sistema colonial de folios. Dado que el texto principal de la página no está en rojo, podemos suponer que el número fue agregado posteriormente.
También podemos ver el número doce en tinta azul o lapiz gris (?) Y hay también una pequeña “x,” posiblemente, justo debajo del número --? También podría haber una pequeña “t” o “x” debajo del árbol a la derecha--?
