f. 16v., three circles

f. 16v., three circles

These circles appear in a number of Techialoyan manuscripts. We are watching them to see if their context will provide clues to their meaning. One theory is that they each stand for one “tzontli” (400 count) of cords or rods of land. The text here does support this reading, mentioning 3 x 400 cords of land. [SW]
